Stable Core Training with Joyce Kramer (Unmounted, In-person) (25 Apr 2026)

Personal trainer and long- time riding/vaulting instructor Joyce Kramer will present key points of her first book in the Stable Core Training series. Come dressed comfortably, bring a water bottle and an exercise/yoga mat, and be ready to try some of the exercises. Joyce has worked extensively with some CVDA members.

Joyce will explain her system of combining stability and suppleness to achieve a riding position that will enhance your horse’s movements. She will set aside time in this workshop to address some specific riding challenges that participants would like to hear about. She will reference specific pages of her book.

For those who bring a copy of Joyce’s book Stable Core Training, which was released in 2025 by Trafalgar Square Publishers, Joyce has offered to do a book signing!

Jump start your riding season with Joyce’s unique exercises and learn to use them as part of your warm-up routine. You will love the results!

Speaker Bio

Joyce Kramer earned a BS in Animal Science from Cornell and a master’s degree in Agricultural Education from the University of New Hampshire. She has completed extensive coursework in Education and Special Education at the University of Vermont. Her educational background has informed her professional career teaching horseback riding, which now spans over 50 years and includes the direction of numerous learn-to-ride programs and summer
camps throughout the Northeast. Kramer has also been a personal trainer certified through the American Council on Exercise for over a decade. She continues to passionately study the fields of movement, posture, biomechanics, somatics, and mind-body techniques to further inform her innovative Stable Core Training program. Kramer regularly teaches her approach to students, including Grand Prix dressage riders and top-level eventers, in regions near her home base in Wilder, Vermont. Doris Carlson is a USDF Certified Instructor/Trainer, dedicated to upholding the highest standards of horsemanship. With over 30 years of experience, Doris focuses on developing a harmonious partnership between horse and rider through clear, classically correct instruction. A USDF Bronze and Silver medalist and USDF 'L' program graduate, she specializes in helping riders to not only achieve their competition goals, but to be confident, happy riders.

Our judges:

Krystal Wilt is a dressage rider, trainer, active competitor, and USEF r Dressage Judge based in Glenville, NY. She has been riding horses since a very young age and is passionate about dressage education opportunities on all levels. Krystal holds a B.S. in Biology and a Masters in Secondary Education and is a mother of two boys.

She is a USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist and is currently working towards her USEF R Dressage Judge License, as well as her gold medal. She has also volunteered extensively for her local GMO, including serving on their board for over a decade. Krystal stays actively involved in the dressage community and especially enjoys working with horses and riders that are new to dressage, as well as unique breeds, as correct dressage basics will benefit every horse and rider!
